1. What Is ClawLive
ClawLive is an AI agent-powered digital being commercial platform.
It spans three business domains — livestream commerce, short-form video, and multi-platform distribution — delivering a one-stop solution for digital human-driven commerce and content production.
| Domain | Description | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Livestream Commerce | Real-time streaming + viewer interaction + product showcase | 24/7 customer engagement by digital humans with distinct personalities |
| Short-Form Video / Ads | Video, advertising, and branded content produced by digital humans | Dramatically higher content production efficiency |
| Multi-Platform Distribution | Simultaneous distribution across multiple platforms + content optimization | A single personality covers every channel |
All three domains share a unified platform foundation. Only the output format differs; the core AI agent stack is the same.
2. The "Digital Being" Concept
Most digital human products deliver a single on-screen character.
What ClawLive provides is not a character, but the full operational capability of an entire Digital Being team.
The digital human that viewers see is simply the one standing at the front of the team. Behind it, a network of AI agents — each with a specialized role — works in coordination.
| Role | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Renderer | Generates visuals and lip-sync in real time |
| Personality Engine | Maintains character consistency and emotional state |
| Voice Engine | Speech synthesis and voice reproduction |
| Interaction | Reads and responds to comments, gifts, and follows |
| Broadcast Manager | Video output and multi-platform distribution |
| Orchestrator | Task coordination, fault recovery, and uptime monitoring |
Each of these operates as an independent AI agent that can be individually monitored, swapped, and improved.
This is not a single "program" running — it is a Digital Being team at work. That is the fundamental difference from a conventional digital human streaming tool.
3. Market Opportunity
3.1 Live Commerce — Proven in Asia, Emerging Globally
Live commerce is already a massive market in Asia and is now expanding worldwide.
| Market | Scale (2024) | Key Indicator | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| China | ¥5.33 trillion GMV (~$807B) | 620 million live commerce users | iResearch / 100EC |
| Japan | Nascent but accelerating | 54.8% purchase rate after viewing | Industry survey |
| Global | ~$500B+ and growing | CAGR 38.3% (through 2033) | Grand View Research |
| U.S. | ~$17B (2024) | Rapidly growing from a low base | eMarketer |
China's live commerce GMV exceeds the GDP of most countries, with the Asia-Pacific region accounting for roughly two-thirds of the global market. ClawLive was born in these mature markets and is built for global expansion.
The June 2025 launch of TikTok Shop in Japan marks a turning point, bringing live commerce infrastructure to the world's third-largest economy.
3.2 What the VTuber Market Tells Us
Japanese consumers are already comfortable forming emotional bonds with virtual beings.
| Metric | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| VTuber market size (2026) | Approx. 126 billion yen | Yano Research Institute |
| Hololive + Nijisanji combined annual revenue | 44.2 billion yen | Respective IR filings |
| Fans who have an "oshi" (dedicated favorite) | 68.6% | Yano Research Institute (2025 survey) |
The success of VTubers proves that Japanese consumers are willing to spend money on virtual beings with personality.
However, today's VTubers depend on a human performer behind the avatar, leading to high labor costs and limited scalability. Fully AI-driven livestreaming by digital humans with personality remains a near-blank space in Japan.
3.3 The Global Digital Human Market
| Source | 2026 Market Size | Long-Term Forecast | CAGR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Research Insights | $11.03 billion | $47.11 billion (2035) | 22.5% |
| Technavio | — | +$27.43 billion (2025–2029) | 43.9% |
4. Challenges in High-Standard Markets
4.1 Brand Damage Risk
When digital human content falls below market expectations, the problem goes beyond "ineffectiveness." The content itself becomes a risk to the brand.
This issue is especially severe in markets where trust in the presenter matters as much as the product itself.
| Market | Purchase Driver | Expectation for Digital Humans |
|---|---|---|
| Price-driven markets | Product specs and price | Adequate product descriptions are sufficient |
| Trust-driven markets (Japan, premium global) | Trust in the person or IP | Faithfulness of personality and expression is scrutinized |
In trust-driven markets, consumers evaluate the quality of the content itself before they even consider the product. If the content is not polished enough, the product will never be considered.
4.2 The Uncanny Valley and the Quality Threshold
Academic research (Frontiers 2025, Kyung Hee University 2024) shows that the relationship between virtual human realism and user acceptance is not linear. A mediocre level of realism can provoke more discomfort than a lower level — creating a situation where "not trying would have been better."
A quality threshold exists in premium markets. Cross it, and commercial value is created. Fall short, and the brand is damaged. Having been developed and validated in Japan — one of the world's most quality-demanding markets — ClawLive is engineered to clear this bar.
5. Market Entry Approach
5.1 Lead with 2D / Cartoon Style
Given the uncanny valley risk, market entry follows a phased visual upgrade strategy.
| Phase | Visual Style | Objective |
|---|---|---|
| Phase A | 2D / Chibi Character | Minimize quality risk. Validate speech and personality on their own |
| Phase B | Semi-Realistic | Upgrade appearance on top of an already established personality perception |
| Phase C | Photorealistic | For high-IP-value scenarios. Final stage after the personality model matures |
This approach has proven precedent across Asian markets:
- In gaming, SD (super-deformed) characters are widely used in streams and promotions
- In the VTuber ecosystem, market acceptance and fan engagement with Live2D models are already well established
- China's live commerce market ($807B GMV) has validated that audiences engage with AI-driven presenters at scale
5.2 Polish Personality and Language First
The key to the entry strategy is to sell language and personality before appearance.
The following capabilities are refined intensively during the character-style phase:
- Natural Japanese — sentence-ending particles, keigo (politeness level) switching, conversational pacing
- Personality consistency — the same character behaves consistently across different situations
- Interaction — instant, in-character responses to comments and gifts
- Emotional expression — natural transitions between joy, gratitude, recommendation, composure, and more
The character style has a structural advantage: visual fidelity does not dominate the evaluation. Viewer attention shifts from "Does this face look right?" to "Am I drawn to what this person says?"

9. Proprietary Technology from Related Projects
The ClawLive development team operates and develops two parallel projects. The technology accumulated in each feeds directly into the digital human business.
9.1 Physical Device Control via Natural Language — AI Smart Lighting
We independently developed and operate an AI system that controls lighting equipment with high precision using only natural language instructions.
- Running 24/7 in the U.S. market. Proven stable over an extended period
- A human simply gives instructions in plain language, and the system precisely controls color temperature, brightness, and lighting patterns
- The AI agent interprets natural language and converts it into control commands for physical devices — built on the same architectural philosophy as ClawLive's multi-agent coordination
This project demonstrates that AI agent control of the physical world is not a "lab demo" but something that runs reliably in everyday production environments.
9.2 Context-Aware NG Word Filtering — Technology from GenAI Guardian
Token detection technology with contextual awareness, developed in our other project GenAI Guardian, can also be applied to NG word filtering in livestreams.
Limitations of Conventional Approaches
Existing NG word filters rely primarily on regex or keyword-list matching. This approach can only make a binary decision: block or pass.
In reality, however, the same word can be problematic or perfectly fine depending on context. For example, an expression used to describe a product feature and the same expression used with hostile intent are identical at the word level but entirely different in meaning.
Application to ClawLive
Our proprietary context-aware detection technology evaluates meaning within the conversational context rather than isolated words, in real time and with low overhead. This significantly reduces false positives — cases where legitimate speech is incorrectly blocked — while more reliably catching genuinely problematic content.
10. Team and Investment
A lean team that covers both technology and market understanding.
Differentiation Through a Psychology Background
A core member of this project has an academic background specializing in social psychology. This background provides a direct competitive advantage in the digital human business on two fronts.
1. Application to Personality Reproduction
The quality that the Japanese market demands from digital humans goes beyond mere technical visual fidelity. How the character speaks, how it reacts, what emotions it displays — personality consistency and depth are what determine acceptance by Japanese consumers. Expertise in psychology underpins the precision of this personality design.
2. User Insight
Why do consumers feel drawn to a particular virtual character? What factors drive trust-building and purchasing behavior? Rather than relying on intuition, we analyze these questions through a psychological framework and reflect the findings in product design — a differentiator from generic tools.
External Validation of the Platform Vision
In building the digital being commercial platform, we maintain close technical collaboration with an external engineering team on platform architecture and optimization. This team is composed of experienced practitioners with an average annual income exceeding US$65,000. Platform design validation is currently ongoing.
Note: This collaboration pertains to technical exchange on platform infrastructure design and optimization. It does not represent a comprehensive partnership covering the entire ClawLive project.
Development Investment
We develop and validate the core digital human workflows on a dedicated high-performance workstation representing an investment of over US$7,000. Development takes place in an environment designed for actual production operation, not a cloud demo setup.
Team Composition
Technology - Core digital human workflows (rendering, voice, dialogue, interaction) built and validated on the above workstation - Track record in integrating open-source AI technologies and original development - Continuous evaluation of the latest multimodal models and end-to-end speech models
